14.1 The Competition will have five stages. Stages I, II, III and IV will be held in the Seymour Center, University of Sydney. Stage V will be held in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House.

The Prizewinners’ Concert will be held in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House.
14.2 All pianists chosen to participate in the Competition will be required to perform in the first two recital stages.
14.3 Twenty (20) pianists will be selected for the Stage III recitals; twelve (12) pianists will be selected for the Stage IV recitals and chamber music; six (6) pianists will be selected for the Stage V concertos.
14.4 Order of appearance in Stages I and II will be drawn by lot prior to the Competition. Thereafter it will be alphabetical although some flexibility in the order of appearance in Stages IV and V will be allowed for rehearsal and programming factors.
14.5 All works prepared for the Competition must be played from memory with exception of the Stage IV chamber music works.
14.6 Those competitors who are unable to perform when called upon to do so may be disqualified. In the case of illness or accident certified by an independent medical practitioner, the Jury may, at its discretion, allow the competitor to change the order of his/her appearance.
14.7 All stages of the Competition will be open to the general public and broadcast live throughout Australia, New Zealand and worldwide on the Internet by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
